How the arithmetic works.
- conc = 100 mg ÷ 1 mL = 100.00 mg/mL
- vol = 12mg ÷ 100.00 = 0.120 mL
- units = 0.120 mL × 100 = 12.0 U
A U-100 syringe is graduated so that 100 units equals 1 mL, which is why the volume in millilitres is multiplied by 100 to get the mark to draw to.
