How the arithmetic works.
- conc = 5 mg ÷ 2 mL = 2500 mcg/mL
- vol = 250mcg ÷ 2500 = 0.100 mL
- units = 0.100 mL × 100 = 10.0 U
A U-100 syringe is graduated so that 100 units equals 1 mL, which is why the volume in millilitres is multiplied by 100 to get the mark to draw to.
